We will be undertaking essential maintenance to remove our current dependency on one of the legacy servers.
This will involve failing over our Database to the current standby / secondary server and updating configuration files across the environment to reference the new environment.
We will also be migrating our existing Redis VM to another server on the cluster and again updating the various configuration files we have to point to the updated IP Address of the host.
We expect the outage to take no more than 30 mins once it's started.
Update 18:28 EU/London: The scope of this maintenance is now only for the database migration, the Redis migration wil be starting earlier and under a seperate schedculed maintenance task.
We have delayed maintenance by approx 30 mins due to ensure we can complete the maintenance with minimal disruption.
We are delaying the maintenance by a further 45 mins as we can see that the replicaiton is still ongoing and we aren't able to switch over to the new DB infrastructure before the replication has concluded.
We have ran into some issues with the replication further delaying this work. We are now hoping to start this at 16:30 UK Time which is 1:15Hrs later than our last update.
The replication is continuing to take significantly longer than we had expected. We are delaying the maintenance start by a further 3 hours.

We are pleased to say that the maintenance has also now started, our replica is 100% in sync with the primary and in addition to the ongoing work to get Redis migrated we are working to switch over all our configurations to our new DB server.
Due to a corruption issue with our replica we have had to reschedule this for later in the day, we are still hoping to get this completed before the end of today though it may now need to happen tomorrow. We will keep you updated.
We are continuing to have issues with the replication and creating a fully functional secondary instance of the database. Until this is resolved we will have to continue postponing the maintenance. The next update will be once we have a high confidence environment operational and ready.
Full service restored.
We are currently seeing a problem with our ingress content processors (unclear as to why) and as a result we aren't getting new content federation in from other fedi services and servers. Everything else seems to be fine so apologies that it's currently one way traffic.
I'm out and about on my holiday right now and haven't got the ability to do anything for a few hours, my apologies this is partially down to migrating to new infrastructure which does not yet have all of its resilience.
Maintenance is complete and we've sucesfully indexed all accounts into the advanced search functionality.
Queues are now operational and fully caught up. We're re-attempting the search aspect of our maintenance to conclude the 4.3 update with some tweaks to our search service.
It looks as if we're having some major issues with our search service and the content processing may not have been the root cause, we're working to get everything back up and running now and will get content processing re-enabled shortly.
We have temporarily taken the content processing for Universeodon offline as it's impacting the end of our maintenance and negatively impacting the search performance of the site. We will bring the service back online once our search work completes.
Maintenance is complete and everything is back up and running.
We have identified an issue impacting part of our webite infrastructure while we perform routine maintenance, we are working to resolve the issue.
